Brenda Bowie Wise
Tony and Brenda Wise arrived in Portugal in 2021 from Alaska and started working on the remodelling of their current glamping site in Cerveira. Brenda is a retired nurse and author of Tundra Courage. She hopes that now that the renovations are complete, she can take some time to write the next book in this series. Brenda enjoys or has enjoyed running, the outdoors, marathon canoeing, rock climbing, and bicycling.
Tony Wise
Tony retired from telecommunications and hopes that next year, he will have time to ride his motorcycle. Tony grew up with a military father and spent his early years in Japan, then had a few years in the state of Tennessee before finishing high school in Sicily. After that, he spent 30 years living in Alaska.
Matt and Joe
Matt and Joe have adapted to their move to Portugal and enjoy music, legos and imagination. Matt likes to compose music, and Joe likes to create ways to solve problems with things. He also loves his bike and triathlon.
Ruth
Ruth is our 8-year-old golden doodle whose sole purpose is to give and receive love.
Max
Max, the cat, was adopted last year after being found as a kitten on the side of the road after being hit by a car. He was named Max because of his broken jaw. He does his best to avoid most people but is guaranteed to be watching the campsite activity.
Beer or Fritz
Beer joined the family in early 2024. He is originally from the Ukraine, but he needed a new home. He has become a big part of the family and keeps Ruth company, especially during the summer.
Bonbon
Bonbon joined our family in September 2024. She was a very friendly, tiny stray kitten who found her way home to us. She gets along very well with Max, our other cat. However, most of the time, you will find her playing with the dogs.
